Found Object Color Wheel--ASSIGNMENT

Found Object Color Wheel

What is a color wheel?

The color wheel is a traditional representation of the ways that colors relate to each other.

The colors are logically arranged around a circle, so that it illustrates how the primary, secondary, and tertiary colors relate to each other.

Check out the link to “Color Matters” and read through to understand a little better. There are illustrations of each type, and different theories.

Your assignment for next Tuesday is to make a Found Object Color Wheel.

In your everyday life, you are to begin to collect objects around you, and assemble them into a color wheel.

Rules:

1. You may have as many objects as are feasible for you to carry or assemble and bring to class, BUT you may have no less than 12 colors/objects.
2. The objects must be monochromatic—no prints, patterns, etc.
3. They may be mounted on a board, or you may assemble them on a table.
4. The objects must be smaller than a breadbox.
5. The objects do not all have to be the same.
6. You must bring the objects to class (Tuesday, January 20, 2009)

Also, you are to bring your paints and some paper to class on Tuesday, January 20, 2009

We will be painting in class.
