a few of you have been thinking about samples. Exotic Silks has a site where you can order samples of their collections--a few for even $3.00 each (plus shipping, of course). Anyway, it's a good place to start your serious sample box.
"What's a sample box?", you say?
Well, every designer has a sample or swatch box that they have collected throughout the years as designer. It contains cool fabrics from which to pull your swatches for to use on those cooooool renderings you do! But, most importantly it contains a few extra swatches of everything you've worked on so far, because, let me tell you, how many times do you plan on redo-ing your portfolio?
"None"? you say?
I fair not!!!
Take it from me, you will want to redo your portfolio at SOME time, and you will thank me for the swatch box idea. (I have a cool little wooden trunk with swatches in it, and it looks like a treasure box!) So, even though you may be done now, plan ahead, and collect!
